This is a reference to Chop Chop Master Onion, who gives Lammy this piece of advice early in the game. At the very end of the level, turn around to find a Bot wearing a blue cap trying to crack a safe, who retreats when you get close. This is a reference the Sly Cooper franchise that first appeared in 2002 on PS2, developed by Sucker Punch. This scene refers to his safe cracking skills, and this setup in particular serves as the cover for the European version of the game, where it was known simply as Sly Raccoon. On the right-hand side of the pool at the very end of Bot Beach is a bloated Bot with a crown on its head and a cake on its belly. 88vv com is a reference to 2009’s Fat Princess for the PS3, developed by Titans Studios.
Once you finish all the levels at least once you’ll unlock a series of “speed run” levels that are variants off of the game’s main levels. I appreciated these because they weren’t just the same exact levels with a timer added, but instead offered totally new paths and obstacles through a stage that was merely themed after the existing level. You’ll recognize backgrounds and a few elements, but they may as well be new levels.
And that’s over typically the way it combines some audio Easter eggs into the particular world that happen to be perhaps best found out while playing. Fortunately, Astro’s Playroom has dynamic jumping, which means that holding down X will result in a much bigger jump than just tapping X. Something that interested individuals should keep in mind if they are struggling with the bigger gaps that can be found in the game. Besides this, it is worth mentioning that such a jump can be combined with a Spin and a Beam Glide to create a huge amount of distance, thus opening up even more possibilities for the player. You can delete Astro’s Playroom once you’re done with it (and redownload at any time).
This is Pyramid Head from 2001’s Silent Hill 2 on PS2, developed by Team Silen in Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo. Pyramid Head is a manifestation of the protagonist James Sunderland’s guilt and want for punishment. After first using the Hang Glider, check the side of the column on the left side of the landing zone to see a Bot walking on a wall. This references Kat of Gravity Rush, released on PSVita in 2012 and developed by SIE Japan Studio. As should be evident, Kat has the ability to change the direction of gravity.
Instead it’s used to connect to a PlayStation 5 and play compatible games via Remote Play (a feature that dates back to the PlayStation Vita playing PS3 games). It retains the signature haptic feedback and adaptive trigger motors of the DualSense controller. Codenamed Project Morpheus, the PlayStation VR was Sony’s first virtual reality headset, featuring twin 120hz OLED displays with 100 degrees field of view, an integrated microphone, and motion sensors. It required the PlayStation Camera as it used the same tracking technology used for the PlayStation Move. Move controllers were also used for the hand-tracking controllers, although some games used the DualShock 4. The PlayStation Vita was the successor to the PSP, featuring an OLED touch screen, two analog sticks, both a front and rear-facing camera, and a touch pad on the back.
To unlock the Platinum Trophy in Astro Playroom‚ complete all story levels‚ collect every puzzle piece‚ artifact‚ and coin. Earn trophies for specific actions like Twisting Metal (jumping 3 times during a spin attack on ice). Double-check the trophy list to confirm all requirements are met before finalizing your journey to 100% completion. Astro once again controls really well in this game although our adorable robot friend doesn’t have as deep a move set as a certain plumber does. Astro can jump, punch enemies, and perform a spin attack but that’s about it for the main move set. That was never a problem though as the game is constantly introducing new things for you to use to show off that controller and it feels really good all the way through.
Throw the cannister with the net inside at the blue aura when the lock-on symbol appears to reveal the Special Bot. Go under the bridge and immediately on your right pull the exposed cable cords to grab a throwable canister with a net inside. Punch the shell to reveal a steering wheel, then stand in front of it push the Options button to bring up the map. Go to the far right corner of the beach, next to the building, on the opposite side of where the Gran Turismo Astro Bot is.
Trophies are another kind of collectible that are available in every PlayStation 5 game (as well as the PS4, PS3 and PSVita). They aren’t tracked internally in the game, but are instead tracked externally by the system itself. We’ll be playing Astro Bot for our readers and will have our thoughts ready in time for the game’s launch.
Everything pops, and with so much detail, you can spend quite a bit just exploring. Every single device, or UMD or game disc, is lovingly crafted right down to the movable thumbsticks of a controller, or the input and output ports on the back of a console. The other two are much weaker in comparison, considering the frog suit in Cooling Sprints is heavy to use with directional launching and motion controls.
Trophy Easter Eggs
This references SCE London Studio’s PlayStation Home, a Second Life-style experience launched in 2008 and closed in 2015. The game let you explore themed spaces and allow you to purchase items to display in your virtual home. In the final shaded section of the level with the long wooden bridge, look down on the left-hand wall to see a Bot on a bike escaping a swarm of Bots. The Bots chasing the bike refer to the huge swarms of zombies featured in the game.
Astro’s Playroom Gacha Machine Has A Hidden Dualsense Mechanic
Puzzle Piece 4/4 – Keep climbing and after going off two bounce pads you’ll be at the very top of the plaza, where you can find this puzzle piece. Core Trophies are awarded for completing levels and defeating bosses‚ serving as essential milestones toward smoothly achieving the Platinum Trophy in Astro Playroom. Astro’s Playroom is a free game, pre-installed to every PlayStation 5 console.
Players can feel the vibrations simulated from the game, like raindrops on Astro’s head, or feel the strong gusts of wind, the feeling of walking on a sandy beach, and many more. There are areas where Astro must ascend while in a miniature rocket, and players must exert more effort pressing the adaptive triggers. While platforming games do not appeal to everyone, players can spend a few good hours going through obstacle courses and hunting a few easter eggs tucked away by the developers. If you just bought a PlayStation 5 or had one at launch, it would be a shame to miss experiencing a game that is completely free in 2025. Alongside releasing the four special bots and a new launch trailer for Astro Bot, Sony has announced a “special celebration countdown” for the game in Astro’s Playroom. Players have until September 6 to pre-order the game and unlock costumes and paints for the DualSpeeder before everyone else.
Puzzle Piece 1/4 – Directly to the left of the first checkpoint there is a hole you can drop down with a bunch of coins and this puzzle piece in the middle. Artifact 2/2 “DUALSHOCK 2 Controller” – When you reach the rocket ship, stay on the ground level and run to the back of the platform. Knock the pile of colored crates out of the way to find a wire pull, which reveals this artifact.
The PS5’s Pulse headset is a headset designed to use 3D audio with PS4 and PS5 games that support it, allowing for sounds to be heard as if all around the player, similar to a surround sound system. It also features two microphones that can cancel out background noises, and still has a 3.5mm jack to use as a standard headset. The SingStar Microphone was the iconic peripheral of the SingStar games, of which there were over 70 different releases (including the same game with different setlists per region). Coming as a pair of one red and one blue microphone, they came bundled with an adapter that both mics plugged into. This was so that they only take up one of the PS2’s USB ports, leaving the remaining port open for the EyeToy camera.
